Improvement in Biventricular Cardiac Function Following Ambulatory Counterpulsation

Survivals in patients with advanced heart failure (HF) have improved following the development of heart transplantation (HTx) and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD).1,2 However, these treatment modalities are associated with complications that may adversely impact quality of life. Ideally, strategies that encourage recovery of native myocardial function would provide the best long-term solution to chronic HF.
