CONCLUSION: Sonography enables very good visualization of swallowing and evaluation of the cervical esophagus. Where available, the otorhinolaryngologist should consider ultrasound as a diagnostic option, as it enables repeated evaluation of swallowing and can complement previously available diagnostic tools.
