The numbers tell the story for themselves – of the 64,000 drug-overdose deaths in the U.S. in 2016, three quarters were caused by opioids, according to the Centers for Disease Control. And recent reports from the CDC show opioid overdoses increased 30 percent between July 2016 and September 2017.
