The adsorption capacity of arsanilic acid by the nanocomposite was found to be 313.7 ± 11.2 mg g−1, reach the equilibrium within 15 min, and was independent of pH (3–6) and the concentrations of ammonia nitrogen up to 1000 mg L−1. The adsorption of arsanilic acid followed pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm and was an endothermic and spontaneous process.Graphical abstract
