'Alarming ’ number of people save, share antibiotics

If you have unused antibiotics sitting in your medicine cabinet, you ’re not alone. A study by the American Academy of Pediatrics has found an “alarming” number of parents save leftover antibiotics and give them to others. It’s concerning to doctors because prescription diversion, as it’s referred to by the study’s authors, is the type of misuse that can lead to antibiotic resistance.
