Background: Overuse of opioid analgesics is a public health in the U.S. Postoperative pain remains the most common challenges following inpatient and outpatient surgeries, and therefore opioid analgesics are widely used during the perioperative period. Several studies have reported the use of transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block for perioperative pain management.
