Resident involvement in robotic bariatric surgery: A MBSAQIP analysis

Background: As robotic bariatric surgery becomes more common, it is important to assess complications as trainees become more involved in these procedures. The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgical Association Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) records bariatric surgery-specific complications for all procedures at member institutions. Our hypothesis was that resident involvement in robotic bariatric surgery does not increase complications.
