Abstract Retrospective analysis has already shown correlation between severe Chronic Periodontitis (CP) cases with human papiloma virus (HPV). Hence, we aimed to explore deep-seated infected granulation tissue removed during periodontal flap surgery procedures for residential bacterial species between HPV+ and HVP- CP cases, which may serve as good predisposition marker for oral cancer. All CP-granulation samples showed the prominence of Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, and Bacteroidetes phyla with an abundance of gram negative anaerobes, except Streptococcus. In Beta diversity nonmetric multidimensional scaling plot, ...

Abstract An important harmonization effort was produced by the scientific community to standardize both the preanalytical and interpretative phases of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) immunohistochemical (IHC) testing in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This analysis is crucial for the selection of patients with advanced-stage tumors eligible for treatment with pembrolizumab and potentially with other anti-PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoint inhibitors. This multicentric retrospective study evaluated the reproducibility of PD-L1 testing in the Italian scenario both for closed and open platforms. In the evaluation of the wel...

Authors: Li W, Cao Z, Liu R, Liu L, Li H, Li X, Chen Y, Lu C, Liu Y Abstract Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), as a kind of inorganic nanoparticle, have been gradually recognized as one of the most promising nanomaterials, which is attributed to their unique optical, electronic, sensing and biochemical characteristics. Due to such unique characteristics, AuNPs have been widely applied in biomedical fields such as diagnosis, biosensing and drug delivery. Except for their use in cancer treatment alone with their photothermal ablation of solid tumours, when used with anticancer drugs, AuNPs can exert a dual role in treating...
