Hey, Can We Talk?

A colleague comes into your office, gently shuts the door, and says “Hey, can we talk?” Her tone of sincere concern tells you it’s not a question. “One of the residents is struggling.” She details how the resident is failing to meet the standards in knowledge, interpretation, and procedural skills expected for his level.
