Oxygenated sesquiterpenoids characteristic of a male lycaenid butterfly Lycaeides argyrognomon praeterinsularis

Compounds 1–2 were discovered for the first time in insects. Compound 3 has also been reported from males of the Swedish subspecies of Lycaeides argyrognomon, suggesting that it may be useful as a chemotaxonomic marker of this species.Graphical abstract
