$2.4M bequest: Children's to name part of new building for executive, wife

Cincinnati Children ’s Hospital plans to name the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in the Critical Care Building now under construction in honor of the late Mary and Joseph Stern Jr., who recently left $2.4 million to the medical center. Mary Stern died in June at age 97. Joseph Stern, who had been president and chairman of U.S. Shoe Corp. as well as a trustee of Cincinnati Children’s, died in 2010 at age 91.
