Clostridium difficile associated disease

This review notes clinical manifestations usually occur on days 4 to 9 of antibiotic (AB) treatment, but may occur up to 8 weeks after discontinuation of ABs. Treatment is started with oral vancomycin or fidaxomicin. It is estimated 5-50% of treated patients have recurrence.
