SkaltsaAbstractFourteen compounds were isolated from the aerial parts of Anthemis orientalis(L.) Degen, growing wild in Greece. These compounds comprise two new eudesmane esters, nine flavonoids, one phenolic acid, one alicyclic derivative and one fatty ester. The structures of the isolated compounds were established by means of NMR [1H-1H-COSY, 1H-13C-HSQC, HMBC, HSQC-TOCSY, NOESY, ROESY] and MS spectral analyses. The main secondary metabolites were by order of their abundance the sesquiterpene esters. A chemical review on the non volatile secondary metabolites has been carried out. Based on the literature data, the analysis revealed that the chemical profile of A. orientalis is distinct to that of Anthemis spp. concerning the sesquiterpene load.Graphical abstract
