Clinical implementation of Dosimetry Check ™ for TomoTherapy® delivery quality assurance.

CONCLUSION: We have clinically implemented DC for the DQA of TomoTherapy® -based helical IMRT treatment plans. DC carried out the accurate DQA results as performed with the conventional cheese phantom method. Manual methods can be time consuming and dependent on the treatment planner ’s experience [1]. Conclusion: The novel TPS-based heterogeneity correction can improve the 2D and 3D EPID-based back projection technique. Structures with large heterogeneities can also be handled using the proposed technique.

Conclusions: VMAT plan can reduce the risk of secondary malignancy while treating different sites of cancer. VMAT is the most appropriate technique than IMRT, especially in the treatment of large tumor volume. Special attention has to be given, especially while treating women and children.
