We recently highlighted concerns that many physicians who use social media for professional purposes are not appropriately disclosing relationships with industry, and we outlined potential reasons and solutions for this lack of disclosure.1 In his letter to the editor, Dr. Braillon shares many of our sentiments; however, he believes that the lack of disclosure may be due to the ‘toothless’ nature of the guideline recommendations (which lack punitive capacity), or reflect a lack of concern with ‘integrity’ and ‘professionalism’ among many physicians.
