Dentistry and nursing working together to improve oral health care in a long-term care facility

This study assessed oral care knowledge of, and challenges experienced by, nurses and allied nursing staff (ANS) in a LTC facility in Canada. Dentists and nursing staff used the findings to implement strategies for improved care. Using a sequential mixed method design, data on oral care knowledge and practices were collected using self-administered questionnaires (n  = 114) and focused groups (n = 39).
