Wages Are Higher in Urban Areas, But Growing Faster in Rural Ones

Looks at data related to wages in urban and rural areas across the country. While wages tend to be higher in urban areas, large rural communities, especially those adjacent to urban areas, tend to have high wages as well. Rural communities have also seen significantly faster growth. The smallest and most isolated rural places tended to have the highest wage growth.
