Sedigheh Hashemi, Nematollah RiaziAbstractThis work deals with f(R) modified gravity in five dimensional space–time. The modified Gaussian thick brane is shown to be a suitable exact solution in the framework of f(R) gravity in five dimensions, confirming with the AdS brane far from the brane. Response of the brane to gravitational fluctuations is discussed, and by working in the Einstein frame, the stability of the solution against linear perturbations is obtained, which also shows that gravitational zero mode is localized on the brane. For cosmological purposes, we consider FLRW model embedded in a proposed brane. Therefore, we arrive at two models, resembling the radiation dominated era and bouncing cosmological models.
