ConclusionThis study identified a number of clinical and genetic features that could help stratify patients who are at higher risk for having PsA and for whom rheumatology referral may be beneficial.

BravoAbstractThe aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of long-term administration of the protein hydrolysate from chicken feet Hpp11 in diet-induced hypertensive rats. Rats were fed standard or cafeteria (CAF) diets for 12 weeks, and during the final 3 weeks, CAF animals were administered vehicle, Captopril or Hpp11. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) was recorded weekly. Body weight and plasmatic lipid and glucose level...

This current study aimed to reveal the possible underlying anti-diabetic mechanisms of CPP based on transcriptome profiling. Our experimental results demonstrated CPP could protect pancreas islets through decreasing oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory cytokines, and alleviate dyslipidemia, hepatic steatosis and liver inj...

ConclusionsOur results suggest that metformin users are more likely to initiate preventive therapies and engage in other healthy behaviours. Failure to account for these behaviours may introduce healthy user bias into studies evaluating the effects of oral antihyperglycemic therapies.RésuméObjectifsLe biais lié aux utilisateurs sains selon lequel les patients ayant recours aux soins de santé sont plus susceptibles d'entreprendre des traitements préventifs et d'adopter des comportements sains liés au mode de vie est bien connu dans les études observationnelles, particuli&egra...

Conclusion: The OAG and NTG patients demonstrated impaired vasculature before significant disease development could be observed. Furthermore, the differences in macular circulation may be associated with differences in the courses of disease between the glaucoma and OHT patients. PMID: 30766730 [PubMed]

CONCLUSIONS: CVOTs and other studies confirm that the SGLT-2 inhibitors, mostly used in combination with other glucose-lowering drugs, offer several clinical benefits beyond improved glycemic control. These include reducing HHF risk and improving renal outcomes. HF and renal benefits are observed in individuals with and without established CVD, which may simplify therapeutic selection. Ongoing SGLT-2 inhibitor CVOTs will help clarify the potential of these drugs to treat T2D comorbid with different forms of HF (HF with preserved vs reduced ejection fraction) and different degrees of renal dysfunction, and in individuals wi...

This study showed that potential vicious cycles underlying ARDs are quite diverse and unique, triggered by diverse and unique factors that do not usually progress with age, thus casting doubts on the possibility of discovering the single molecular cause of aging and developing the single anti-aging pill. Rather, each disease appears to require an individual approach. However, it still cannot be excluded that some or all of these cycles are triggered by fundamental processes of aging, such as chronic inflammation or accumulation of senescent cells. Nevertheless, experimental data showing clear cause and effect relationships...

This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and to investigate HRQoL and the prevalence of hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), obesity and dyslipidemia. In a cross‐sectional design, patients d iagnosed with plaque psoriasis answered an interview and standardized questionnaires (Dermatology Life Quality Index questionnaire [DLQI], 36‐Item Short Form Health Survey [SF‐36] and EuroQol Five‐Dimension Questionnaire Three‐Level version [EQ‐5D‐3L]). Physical examination and several t ests to assess desired outcomes were performed by a dermatologis...
