Analysis of Risk Factors Influencing Outcome in Primary Inguinal Hernia Repairs in Male Patients

Since the introduction of meshes in inguinal hernia repairs it seems to be clear that we have to use a mesh in every case. The European guidelines, which are taking over also by the AHS, recommended the use of mesh in every case above 18 years for primary and recurrent hernias. There is no study respecting the type of hernia and no recommendations based of hernia size and risk factors.
