Rates of Incisional Hernia Repair among Patients with Prior Nissen Fundoplication and Paraesophageal Hernia Repair

Patients who develop paraesophageal hernias may be more predisposed to hernia formation compared to the general population. This analysis aims to determine rates of incisional hernias, among patients who previously underwent paraesophageal hernia repair vs Nissen fundoplication. As the 2 procedures require the same number and location of port sites, they were deemed comparable for this analysis.
