The objective of this study was to characterize serological reactivity profiles generated by cattle, American bison, and African buffaloes in tuberculosis. Serum samples from M. bovis-infected animals were tested for the presence of IgM and IgG antibodies to MPB70/MPB83 and CFP10/ESAT6 chimeric proteins using Dual-Path Platform technology. All three host species showed IgG responses of higher magnitude and frequency than IgM responses; further, IgM seroreactivity was limited to MPB70/MPB83, whereas IgG antibodies recognized both test antigens. We report two cases of unilateral iris granulomata in two young patients who presented with decreased vision and redness and were found to have well-circumscribed iris granulomas. Both underwent systemic evaluation and had a negative Mantoux test. Biopsy pathology of the lesions revealed granulomatous inflammation but were negative for PCR, staining, and culture for TB. One patient turned out to have multiple pulmonary lesions. In this study, we analyzed 677,423 human body temperature measurements from three different cohort populations spanning 157 years of measurement and 197 birth years. We found that men born in the early 19th century had temperatures 0.59°C higher than men today, with a monotonic decrease of -0.03°C per birth decade. Temperature has also decreased in women by -0.32°C since the 1890s with a similar rate of decline (-0.029°C per birth decade).
