Wound Management

Wounds, of many origins and conformations, are common for horses and show no bias by age, breed, sex, or athletic pursuit. Veterinarians develop preferences in diagnostic and treatment methods through education, experience, and discussion. So much of wound management evolves from the basic tenets of “First, do no harm.” With this in mind, the authors of this issue of Veterinary Clinics of North America: Equine Practice have used known medical science combined with their wealth of hands-on experience to offer practical, usable information for the diagnosis and management of equine wounds.
