Pseudo-CT generation for MRI-only radiotherapy treatment planning: comparison between patch-based, atlas-based, and bulk density methods

Methods have been recently developed to generate pseudo-CT (pCT) images from MRI for radiotherapy dose calculation. We propose an original non-local mean patch-based method to generate pseudo-CT for prostate cancer radiotherapy. Our method provides low dose uncertainties from clinical perspective. These uncertainties are lower compared to those of an atlas-based and bulk density methods.
