6.1 Primary Care Partnership From Afar: Bringing Evidence-Based Child Behavioral Treatments for Disruptive Behavior and Depression to Remote Communities

Access to psychiatry and behavioral treatment is limited in remote geographical regions where most mental health concerns are managed by primary care physicians (PCPs). The Partnership Access Line (PAL) at Seattle Children ’s Hospital conducted a “PAL Plus” pilot in 2017 under a state-funded mandate to bring behavioral mental health treatment to the underserved areas of Washington State. The pilot was designed to support PCPs in managing mental health concerns by facilitating fast access to brief mental health t herapy.
