6.2 A Hospital Model of Telehealth Behavioral Assessment and Intervention for Individuals With ASD and Severe and Specialized Treatment Needs

The Biobehavioral Program and Pediatric Feeding Program at Seattle Children's Hospital deliver interdisciplinary behavior analytic assessment and intervention to children diagnosed with ASD and related disorders, with challenging behaviors and avoidant-restrictive food-intake disorders. Unfortunately, there are various obstacles in delivering these services across the state, which result in disparities in access to care. The goals of this project were as follows: 1) to increase access to care and minimize disparities with the use of telehealth services; 2) to embed telehealth within the continuum of care of our services; and 3) to translate behavior analytic telehealth research into a systematic and sustainable service delivery model in a hospital setting.
