Elements of Integrated Treatment of Refractory Major Depression in Youth

The overall objective of this Clinical Perspectives program is to lay out “best practices” for the integrated care of youth with treatment refractory depression. We seek to fill a professional practice gap of improving systems of care by implementing an integration of different approaches and disciplines during treatment. By the end of the program, attendees will have met 4 objectives as follows: 1) to know the evidence for efficacy of current pharmacological and psychological treatments based on recent meta-analyses; 2) to explain limitations in treatment studies and apply this knowledge to the literature; 3) to demonstrate a knowledge of 3 main principles of i ntegrated treatment of major depression and identify 3 key features of integrated care; and 4) to demonstrate a knowledge of how integrated care can be focused.
