22.1 Suicide Risk Assessment in the Emergency Department: A Clinical Research Review

Suicide is the second most common cause of death in children, adolescents, and young adults. Unfortunately, too frequently, children and adolescents are not adequately assessed for suicidality both in primary care and emergency department (ED) settings. The goals of this presentation are to review suicide assessment in the ED setting and to examine suicide risk factors and appropriate interventions.
