23.1 Autism and Beyond: Lessons From an Iphone Study of Young Children
To present results from our Duke iPhone study Autism& Beyond to illustrate how smartphone-based tools coupled with automated computer vision and machine learning analytics can transform how, when, and where we assess young children ’s development and mental health. The primary aims of the study were to test the acceptability and feasibility of conducting an iPhone-based study with caregivers and young children, which included collection of caregiver-report and child video behavioral data and to test a new video-based approac h for automatically collecting and quantifying young children’s emotions and behaviors in their homes.
