47.1 Pediatric Medicine Update: The Art of Practicing Palliative Care Psychiatry
Children with life-threatening illnesses encounter challenges both physically and emotionally, and often these issues are initially managed by palliative care teams. Although palliative care providers are highly skilled at treating and supporting pediatric patients and their families with life-threatening illnesses, collaboration with a child and adolescent psychiatrist can provide additional support and management, especially in more complex cases and in those with more severe mental illnesses.
