How ‘Scroll Free’ was your September?

In July 2018, the Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) announced the ‘Scroll Free September’ campaign to improve mental health and well-being by taking back control of our relationship with social media.1 The campaign followed on from the publication of the RSPH and Young Health Movement (YHM) #StatusOfMind report,2 which examined the positive and negative effect s of social media on young people's health. RSPH and YHM surveyed almost 1500 young people (aged 14–24 years) across the UK (via multiple social media platforms), asking them to score how each of the social media platforms they use impacts health and well-being–related issues.
