Phenotypic and molecular detection of metallo-β-lactamase-producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates from patients with burns in Tehran, Iran
CONCLUSIONS: Our present study found that the bla IMP-1 and bla VIM-1 genes were present at a significant frequency and also detected the bla SPM-1 gene in P. aeruginosa isolates for the first time, highlighting the need for establishing suitable infection control measures to successfully treat patients and prevent further spread of these resistant organisms among patients with burns.
Conclusion. All P. aeruginosa strains producing ESBLs had plasmids containing related genes. The data indicated a high prevalence of ESBL among P. aeruginosa isolates in the southwest of the Iran burn center and their enzyme types were diverse. PMID: 31718745 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS The causative organisms of BSI and the presence of MDR in a hospital BICU were not typical, which supports the need for routine bacterial monitoring. ConclusionsResults of the present study show that antimicrobial resistance in CNSAB isolates from burn wound infections in monitored hospitals in Iran is multifactorial, and also findings of the study suggested that local antibiotic prescription policies should be regularly reviewed, and efficient infection control measures should be observed. Therefore, further strengthening of surveillance of antimicrobial resistance is urgently needed in these regions.
Conclusion: The presence of XDR strains of A. baumannii is considerable significant problem in hospitals. Further, similar genetic clonal identified in them indicated the nosocomial infection origin. ConclusionThe prevalence of MDR-GNB in Iranian burn patients is very high. Thus, a comprehensive infectious control programme, a reduction in the use of antibiotic prophylaxis, and thorough information regarding antimicrobial resistance patterns is required.
