CONCLUSIONS: The effect of different imaging strategies on survival and other health outcomes remains largely unknown. Existing imaging schedules in glioma seem to be pragmatic rather than evidence-based. The limited evidence suggesting that early post-operative brain imaging among GBM patients who will receive combined chemoradiation treatment may make little or no difference to survival needs to be further researched, particularly as early post-operative imaging also serves as a quality control measure that may lead to early re-operation if residual tumour is identified. In this study, onset age, tumor site, tumor increment coefficient, molecular detection, treatment methods, and prognosis of 54 patients were summarized from 19 studies. DLGNT patients are characterized by more singular tumor site, smaller volume, lower increment coefficient, and longer stable disease period. Patients with DLGNT may also have a longer stable condition in cases of molecular detection of 1p/19q deletion, or BRAF fusion.
ConclusionsA deep learning model was developed to diagnose the molecular subtype preoperatively based on multi-modality data in order to predict the 3-group classification directly. Cross-validation showed that the proposed model had an overall accuracy of 68.7% for the test dataset. This is the first model to double the expected value for a 3-group classification problem, when predicting the LGG molecular subtype.
