68 people left BLIND after botched cataract cure was injected into their eyeballs
The patients in Dallas had all been promised clear eyesight from the medication, designed to be a permanent alternative for eye drops. But now, most of them are blind in at least one eye.
CONCLUSION: Congenital cataract surgery appears to be safe and effective when combined with early, conscientious amblyopia treatment. Bilateral congenital cataracts had better visual outcome than unilateral cataract. PMID: 30898370 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
The comparative analysis of the data acquired by two swept-source optical coherence tomography biometers, namely the IOLMaster 700 and the Argos, shows good agreement and no statistically significant difference between them in terms of axial length.
To investigate the agreement of decentration measurements between tangential curvature topography and pachymetry difference maps following small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) procedure.
To investigate the efficacy of corneal crosslinking (CXL) in pellucid marginal degeneration (PMD).
To compare the effect of eye rubbing on Scheimpflug imaging parameters and corneal biomechanics in keratoconus (KC) and healthy eyes.
To establish the agreement of the Aladdin biometer with the Lenstar biometer for routine measurements before cataract surgery.
We report a technique of using host Descemet’s membrane or the incision for graft scaffolding. The Descemetorhexis is created 0.5mm smaller than the graft from between one quadrant to 360 degr ees, preferably in two opposite quadrants. Using the Jacob technique of pressurized air infusion (air pump assisted PDEK), host Descemet’s membrane is gently teased out from under the graft using a reverse Sinskey hook and allowed to overlap the graft from the posterior aspect in a scaffolding man ner.
To determine the effects of epithelial basement membrane dystrophy (EBMD) and Salzmann ’s nodular degeneration (SND) on optical biometry measurements.
MYH9 disorders are associated with sensorineural hearing loss, glomerular nephropathy, and presenile cataract. With this case report, we show the important role of the blood smear in its identification.
