Syphilis Diagnosis From Multiple Flat Condyloma of the Mouth: a Case Report

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by Treponema pallidum and progresses through distinct stages. In secondary syphilis, oral manifestations may occur as elevated verrucous plaques with a broad base, known as flat condyloma. Spontaneous remission may occur, but with risk of relapse. A 28-year-old married woman, who was a nonsmoker and occasional alcohol consumer, presented with the main complaint of lesions on the tongue and labial commissures. After 1 month's evolution, although asymptomatic, nondetachable white plaques over labial commissures, tongue edges, labial mucosa, and anterior tonsil pillars were clinically observed.
