We thank Dr Kendall for his interest in our observational cohort study of 99 patients admitted to the pediatric cardiac ICU (CICU) of a tertiary care center, including 88 who underwent cardiac surgery and 11 who were admitted for medical reasons. We found an incidence of delirium of 57% (95% CI, 46%-67%) in the overall cohort, 59% (95% CI, 49%-69%; n = 52) in the surgical patients, and 36% (95% CI, 15%-65%; n = 4) in the medical patients.
