The Case | A 33-year-old woman with gross hematuria

A 33-year-old woman presented with painless gross hematuria that began 10 days prior to admission. She denied any underlying disease and was on no medications. There were no abnormal findings in her physical examination. Urinalysis showed many red blood cells but no dysmorphic red blood cells or red blood cell casts. Computed tomography with contrast revealed no abnormal findings. Laboratory tests on admission are shown in Table  1. Renal biopsy revealed no morphologically specific findings in light microscopy, immunofluorescent staining for Igs, or electron microscopy.
