Unexpected local anesthesia toxicity during the ultrasonography-guided peripheral nerve block

Currently, ultrasonography-guided peripheral nerve blocks decrease complications with ability to display target nerves, prevent unnecessary needle movement, visualize spread of local anesthetic drug, and increase success rate of the block, providing an active role in using lower doses of local anesthetics. Although it has been proven as a safe and valid method, local anesthetics may sometimes lead systemic toxicity (LAST) [1]. Aim of this letter is to introduce the intraoperatively occurred LAST management through a case.
