Commentary: Health Care Prime — putting consumers at the forefront

Business leaders who should be celebrating the booming U.S. economy, which grew this spring at its fastest rate in four years, are instead uneasy about whipsawing change due to overseas trade wars, national regulatory reversals and local competition coming from unlikely sources. The health care sector in St. Louis has long been one of the dominant regional economic players, employing more local workers than any other industry. Hospitals alone make up a $9 billion-plus slice of the region’s economy.…
