Autonomic dysfunction in patients with irritable bowel syndrome evidenced by alterations of salivary alpha-amylase secretion.
CONCLUSION: This is the first attempt to associate sAA secretion with the pathophysiology of IBS. Our results suggest an autonomic dysfunction in IBS patients.
