GRADE weak or conditional recommendations mandate shared decision-making. Author Response

Thanks to Drs Schoemaker and van der Heijden [1] for  giving me an opportunity to clarify Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE's) position with respect to weak recommendations and shared decision-making. I am delighted to provide reassurance to Drs Schoemaker and van der Heijden: GRADE's initial position on the matt er remains unchanged. That is, physicians facing weak recommendations “should recognize that different choices will be appropriate for different patients and that you must help each patient to arrive at a management decision consistent with her or his values and preferences.”
