Investigation of the “m” in the cmRCT (cohort multiple randomized controlled trial) design revealed dependence between trial results

Relton et  al. [1] revolutionarily proposed the cohort multiple randomized controlled trial (cmRCT) design in 2010, which nowadays is also referred to as the “trials-within-cohort” design. The cmRCT starts with enrollment of subjects in a (large) cohort. At cohort entry, all subjects are asked informed c onsent for participation in the cohort and for consent to be randomized in future trials [2].
