Gastric Band Tubing causing Cecal Volvulus

Obesity is a major public health issue, with increasing prevalence in western societies (1). Since 1993, Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (LAGB) is largely being replaced by other surgical techniques for weight loss, due to high inherent complications. The authors report a rare complication of cecal volvulus precipitated by LAGB tubing inserted 11 years prior.
