Target Organ Abnormalities in Pediatric Hypertension

In 2013, the US Preventive Services Task Force, in an update of their 2003 report, concluded that there was insufficient evidence to assess the balance of benefits and harms of screening for primary hypertension in children and adolescents to prevent subsequent cardiovascular disease in childhood or adulthood.1 The US Preventive Service Task Force used a review of published evidence to come to their conclusion. Their review produced an ā€œIā€ Statement. This means that, based on their key questions, there is insufficient evidence for or against blood pressure screening in children and adolescents.
