RightEye Vision Tests with Contextualized Results: Review and Interview
In conclusion, I really enjoyed the opportunity to use the RightEye system. Working with Dr. Kungle and the RightEye system resulted in the most comprehensive, informative session I’ve ever had about my own vision and left me with clear areas t...
AbstractA series of deaths of Black Americans at the hands of the police sparked mass protests, received extensive media coverage, and fueled a new civil rights movement in the years leading up to the 2016 presidential election. Both major party nominees campaigned on issues of race and policing in different ways. Drawing on colorblind racism theories and the history of law ‐and‐order politics, we explore how views of race relations and the police were associated with voting behavior. We ask, on the one hand, whether people were engaged with the civil rights issues raised by Black Lives Matter and, on the other hand, w...
ConclusionThis study reports significant variability in sensory processing among children with DCD, ADHD and co-occurring symptoms using a population-based sample. These differences can contribute to understand how neurological and social factors correlates across diagnoses.
In this study, we collected raw water from different elements of a local full-scale plant to investigate the fouling characteristics along a two-stage-module NF process. The fouled membranes at different flux decline ratios were autopsied according to scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS), adenosine triphosphate (ATP), contact angle and zeta potential measurements to track the dynamic evolution of organic, inorganic and biological fouling. Statistical approaches, including principal component analysis (PCA), ...
This article presents our clinical perspective on the utility of playf ulness for treating toddlers with ASD.
Conclusion: This study supports the psychometric properties of the Norwegian Self-Efficacy for Therapeutic Use of Self questionnaire in assessing self-efficacy in therapeutic encounters. Further research is needed to address the misfit items and the rating scale issue.Significance: Rasch analysis showed that the Norwegian Self-Efficacy for Therapeutic Use of Self questionnaire is promising to be used as a reliable and valid tool. Conclusion: People who are overweight or obese are motivated to lose weight because of health issues and feeling more comfortable with their body. The opportunities for weight loss lie in creating habits, routines and structuring everyday life activities to facilitate a healthier lifestyle.Significance: The findings indicate that an occupational therapist should be part of weight-loss interventions. Publication date: March 2020Source: Results in Physics, Volume 16Author(s): Sheng Zou, Hanbin Xiao, Fangping Ye, Zongchen Li, Wenzhi Tang, Feng Zhu, Chentong Chen, Chao ZhuAbstractThe inevitably formed residual stress in the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process leads to distortion, crack and even delamination of the workpiece. Single laser is commonly applied during SLM processing. However, its productivity is much lower than multiple lasers. In addition, the research of residual stress with multi-laser condition currently is limited in the open documents. In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) thermo-mechanical model, w...
CONCLUSIONS: Elevated levels of sdLDL-C were associated with a higher prevalence of AIS, especially in non-cardioembolic stroke subtypes. After adjustment for other risk factors, sdLDL-C was found to be an independent risk factor for AIS. Also, sdLDL-C level was strongly associated with AIS severity and poor functional outcomes. Logistic regression models for AIS risk and prognosis prediction were established to help clinicians provide better prevention for high-risk subjects and monitor their prognosis. CONCLUSIONS: We found that the outcomes of MT for patients with PCO were poorer than with ACO. On the other hand, MT appears to have lower rates of sICH and to increase successful recanalization. Given the high recanalization rate, MT may serve as an adjunct to standard treatment. The key point to improve outcomes is recognizing reliable factors associated with futile recanalization and optimizing the results of MT. But in view of the different characteristics of posterior circulation stroke and anterior circulation stroke, the results are far from robust. PMID: 32062629 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
CONCLUSION: Selectively targeting HDAC6 over other subtypes represents two fold advantages: maximize the pharmacological effects and minimize the side effects seen in pan-HDAC inhibitors. Many small molecule selective HDAC6 inhibitors have advanced to clinical studies in recent years. We anticipate the approval of selective HDAC6 inhibitors as therapeutic agents in near future.
