A hoarse warning: ortner's syndrome

A sudden change in voice portended the rupture of an aortic aneurysm. One day after discharge for atypical chest pain, an 80-year-old man presented to the emergency department following an unwitnessed fall. While getting up from a chair, he became dizzy, fell backwards, and suffered a minor head injury without losing consciousness. After the fall, he noticed that his voice had become hoarse.
