Course of subthreshold depression into a depressive disorder and its risk factors

Subthreshold depression is generally considered present when individuals report clinically relevant depressive symptoms (i.e. depressed mood or loss of interest) but diagnostic criteria for a fully developed depressive disorder are not met (Rodr íguez et al., 2012).
