ConclusionsTreatment with warfarin or aspirin both lead to similar outcomes after surgical bAVR. Combining aspirin with warfarin may lead to a small decrease in thromboembolism and mortality but is accompanied by increased bleeding. For TAVR patients, aspirin is equivalent to DAPT for reducing thromboembolism and mortality, with a possible decrease in bleeding.

CONCLUSION: The aim of this review, other than providing a summarized update on the clinical knowledge on this special topic, is also to raise awareness for the need to conduct larger systematic studies in order to adequately evaluate the use of biologics in these special patient categories and therefore draw definite conclusions on their safety profile. Maternal defects in decidualization have been suggested as a possible driver of preeclampsia. Preeclampsia (PE) pregnancies demonstrate shallow implantation, in...

HDAC2 is an important target of glucocorticoid. Here we detected HDAC2 expression in male offspring hippocampus from gestational restraint stressed rat during development and the relationship between HDAC2 expression and behaviors and neurogenesis in male offspring. Pregnant rats received restrained stre...

CONCLUSIONS: Clinical heterogeneity due to THRB mutations cannot be explained by the variant rs2596623. Mothers and newborns with THRB mutations seem to be at increased risk of certain complications, such as gestational hypertension and poor intrauterine and postnatal growth. However, these issues are usually mild, suggesting that routine intervention to regulate thyroid hormone levels may not be warranted in these patients. PMID: 30430796 [PubMed - in process]

This study examined the expression of TLR 2, 4 and 6 as transcript and protein in the placenta (chorioallantois) of 14 foals born alive. By PCR, all examined placental samples contained TLR 2, 4 and 6 transcripts. Using immunohistochemistry, trophoblasts and allantoic epithelium were immunopositive for TLR 2, 4 and 6 in all placental samples. The majority of placental samples contained TLR 4 and 6 positive stromal cells and vascular smooth muscle cells. Since these results confirm the expression of TLR 2, 4 and 6 in different cell populations of the equine placenta, they are the basis for studies into the pathogenesis of T...
