A significant change of platelet number may be a risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.Objective: to investigate the association between platelet number and early signs of atherosclerosis, evaluated by carotid intima-media thickness (c-IMT), in a apparently healthy population mainly represented by obese subjects.
