Our daughter ’s eczema was out of control until we found Dr Aron

Life was like Groundhog Day for our family but then a South African dermatologist and his regimen improved things considerablyFucibet, Clobevate, hydrocortisone creams and gels, Daktacort, Epaderm, Elocon, E45, Dermol, Eumovate, calamine lotion, Pinetarsol solution, antihistamines, Piriton, Ucerax, wet wraps, dry wraps, cradle cap shampoo, all kinds of moisturisers, topical steroids, topical antibiotics, Prednisolone oral steroid, Elidel … GPs, dermatologists and consultants all offered their own variation on this list. Chekhov said, “When many solutions are offered, it means the problem is unsolvable,” and that’s how it felt for a very long time with our four-year-old daughter, who has had severe eczema since she was three months old.I ’m not talking about some patches under her knees or on her wrists or arms, she was covered from head to toe in blistered, angry, weeping skin that she would scratch all day long. She never slept through the night. Not once. She would scratch so hard that her skin would bleed, which would make the application of cream all the more painful for her and her skin more exposed to infection – and so the cycle would continue. It was worse at night when she would thrash around, crying inconsolably, frustrated by the scratch mitts (graduating to the longer ones that cover the whole arm and fit unde r the clothes so she couldn’t remove it and scratch), until she finally subsided beneath a wave of sedating antih...

MDS offers wide range of advantage, like controlled drug release, site-specific action, stable over a broad range of pH, poor irritation, cost effective, improved patient compliance. They can be transformed into various dosage forms like creams, gels, and lotions. MDS based system are suitable for treatment of topical disorders like acne, psoriasis, dandruff, eczema, sclerod...

CONCLUSIONS: The diagnosis of foot eczema in children cannot be made on clinical grounds alone, and patch testing should be recommended in children with any morphological pattern of foot eczema irrespective of presence or absence of atopy, especially in those with long-standing and recalcitrant disease with frequent exacerbations.PMID:34999604 | DOI:10.1097/DER.0000000000000827

Atopic eczema is an itchy inflammatory skin disease. This complex trait results from multiple genetic and environmental factors, but atopic eczema also shows great complexity in its heterogenous presentation, clinical signs and longitudinal trajectory, with or without co-morbid conditions. The past 50 years have produced substantial improvements in the management of atopic eczema, but many patients still suffer a burden of disease affecting personal, social and family life. Genetic research refocused interest on skin barrier function, but effective targeting of this central pathomechanism remains elusive.
